Jared Tait is a member of the Lynx Clan, with roots in Sachigo Lake First Nation and Thunder Bay, Ontario. He began his artistic journey under the mentorship of his father, Tim Tait, who introduced him to painting within the Anishinaabe woodland art style.
From a young age, Jared was immersed in woodland art, developing a deep connection to its symbolism and storytelling. His work draws inspiration from personal experiences and oral traditions, capturing Anishinaabe relationships with the natural world and the spirits that inhabit it.
Through each painting, Jared seeks to preserve and share teachings, stories, and cultural knowledge — honoring the past, speaking to the present, and offering something meaningful for future generations.
